A Night at the Theatre!
Mum and I went out to The Rose Theatre, in Kingston, literally on our doorstops tonight to see A Midsummer Night's Dream, starring yes, nothing less than the great and marvellous Dame Judy Dench! Needless to say she was magnificent as Titania, Queen of the Fairies, but the rest of the cast were also pretty amazing to say the least.
Mum hadn't been to see a Shakespeare play since she was a little girl. I haven't been since I was at Uni, but this comedy has always been one of my favourites, and I think that tonight my mum knew why.
The comedy transends the ages, since Will wrote it... the actors made you see no difference in them from us, despite the Elizabethan setting of the play.
It was truely beautiful.
To cap it all off, as we were entering the seating area, who should stand next to me, but Vivienne Westwood!!!!! She sat just a few seats away in a different row, so we had a good look at her and she is truely technicolour in real life too!!
